Review zu nem Remix von mir

Wie ihr ja wisst, hab ich für Massiv in Mensch nen Remix für den Song "Bitterfeld" gemacht. Ein anderer Remix ist noch in der Pipeline, der "Against all Odds" heisst. Vom Stil her bin ich da aber komplett anders rangegangen, bei AAO handelt es sich um eine echte, reelle Rockballade. Mit dem Stil, den ich hier also sonst so propagiere, hat der Remix so gut wie nichts zu tun.

Remixen liegt mir, mein Bitterfeld-Remix kam jedenfalls gut an, wie das Review von Side-line ja beweist:

We already reviewed this latest release of Massiv In Mensch a few months ago now. Originally released on Artoffact Records "Hands On Massiv: The Remixes" has been licensed to Advoxya Records. After the digital version, available on Artoffact, we now get a physical copy on the European continent.

The tracklist remains identical featuring 12 remixes from this German techno-body act taken from previous releases and compilation plus a few exclusive items as well. Remixes were executed by the band themselves, and also by some label mates like Individual Totem, Standeg, Headscan and Implant. The result is a rather interesting approach of the original 'dance-body' songs of the band.

Standeg realized an amazing remix of the "History"-song (originally released on the "Clubber Lang"-cd). This remix is a complete metamorphosis of the original version where dance vibes were mixed by astral tunes. It ends in a kind of trance style, but different from the one we've been used to hear by Massiv In Mensch.

Another interesting cut is the harder and faster remix of "Bitterfeld" (also originally released on the "Clubber Lang"-cd) by Marc Shake. I really enjoyed the techno bleeps and vocoder effect on the vocals.

Massiv In Mensch did some remixes as well. They opened the album with remixes of "Der Kotzbrocken" (released on the "Die Rein"-album") and "Dark Rave" (released on the "Menschdefekt"-album). The remix of "Dark Rave" isn't terribly inspired by the "Der Kotzbrocken" sounds ultra commercial and even comes close to pure dance music. Individual Totem probably wins the award for most experimental remix of "Green".

Implant surprised me a bit by a less inspiring remix of "Radius 17 M" (originally released on the "Menschdefekt"-album) while DJ Nightflyer ending the album with a hard punching remix of "Toast" (again from the "Clubber Lang"-album) reminds us how rave music must sound like. There's a lot to experience on this album and it has been definitely a good idea after all these album to get this kind of release. (DP:7)DP.
